Composer, producer and sound designer for all media since 1985.

A few years after graduating from Artez University of the Arts in 1985, I did television work in the early 1990s (screenwriting, directing, video and sound editing), but I soon specialised as a composer and sound designer for TV documentaries, video and games, and started my studio in 1993.

In addition to my studio-work I teach Media & Sound Design at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem.

In more than half a century of intensive listening to virtually all types of music and sound, and more than 35 years of composing for various media, I have developed knowledge of music theory and analysed arrangements, orchestrations and musical lines. I studied, discovered, analysed and gained insight.

I embrace coincidences and ‘accidents’  in my music. It resembles painting. When I painted at art school, I had no confidence in the material paint. 

How different is it now with musical notes, timbres and rhythm! In retrospect, I can say that I’ve actually been a music-painter all my life!
